Internet - Searching & Exploring the Internet
Course Information
This course is designed to introduce the novice user to the Internet and the basic component parts.
Delegates will gain an understanding of how to access and surf the Internet in a controlled manner.
Pre-requisites
No prior knowledge of the Internet is required but previous experience of the Windows environment would be an advantage.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course delegates will be able to: * Recognise the component parts of the internet.
- Recognise commonly used phrases and terminology associated with the internet.
- Navigate the Internet Explorer web browser application.
- Recognise the structure of a web address.
- Use a search engine to locate information of interest.
- Refine searches using advanced searching mechanisms.
- Store a useful web address for quick reference.
- Print a web page.
- Save a web page as a file.
- Download information from the Internet to the computer.
- Create an internet mail account.
- Create and send e-mail across the internet.
